This initiative is part of SOS Children’s Village’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities and building strong support systems for children and families. \nNewBec Empowerment Foundation has been tasked with mobilizing 25 representatives from the Ihogbe community to participate in the program. Expected attendees include: \nTraditional Leaders and Council Members \nCommunity Development and Welfare Association Leaders \nReligious Leaders (Christians and Muslims) \nWomen Leaders \nYouth Leaders \nMarket Women Group Leaders \nHealth Workers \nPrincipals\, Headmasters\, and Teachers from Public Schools \nPTA Leaders \nMembers of Community Security Networks \nWard Councilors According to Usunobun Newton Unoko\, Founder of NewBec Empowerment Foundation\, “NewBec is proud to stand among NGOs helping communities take ownership of child welfare and development. By engaging community leaders directly\, we can drive sustainable solutions that truly impact lives.” \nThe event promises to be an enriching session centered on partnership\, awareness\, and collective responsibility for creating a safer and more supportive environment for children and families.

SUMMARY:Back to school program and the orphanage home visit and the medication outreach
DESCRIPTION:On the 18th\, the NewBec Empowerment Foundation carried out a series of impactful initiatives that touched lives across different communities. \nThe day began with our Back-to-School Program\, where schoolchildren received essential supplies such as notebooks\, writing materials\, school bags\, and uniforms. This initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on parents while ensuring that children return to school motivated\, confident\, and fully equipped to pursue their education without hindrance. \nFollowing this\, the team proceeded to an Orphanage Home Visit\, spending quality time with the children\, sharing meals\, and donating vital resources including food items\, clothing\, and hygiene products. Beyond material support\, the visit was also about offering companionship\, encouragement\, and the assurance that they are not forgotten but deeply valued members of society. \nThe day concluded with a Medication Outreach\, where community members received free medical consultations\, basic treatments\, and essential drugs. Our volunteer health professionals were on ground to conduct health checks\, offer advice on preventive care\, and provide immediate medical relief to those who otherwise lack easy access to healthcare services. \nAltogether\, the 18th was a day of education\, compassion\, and healing—a true reflection of NewBec Foundation’s mission to empower\, uplift\, and restore hope across multiple facets of community life.

Our speakers engaged students in heartfelt conversations around the dangers of drug abuse\, the destructive influence of cultism\, and the tragic realities of human trafficking. \nUsing real-life stories\, thought-provoking dialogue\, and practical guidance\, the team created a safe space where students asked questions\, shared thoughts\, and made strong commitments to stay on the right path. \nIt was more than just a campaign—it was a movement of hope and awareness. \nWe’re thrilled by the energy\, openness\, and enthusiasm of the students. Their willingness to listen\, learn\, and lead change was truly inspiring. \nTogether\, we are building a future where our youth can thrive\, free from fear\, exploitation\, and negative influences. \nWe extend our deepest gratitude to the school authorities\, volunteers\, and supporters who helped make this campaign a success.
